What a beautiful day celebrating Earth Day together at the farm! 🌎🌱
Thank you to everyone who joined us for an afternoon filled with hands-on learning, community connection, and outdoor fun. From getting our hands dirty in the garden to exploring edible plants growing around us, the day was a wonderful reminder of how caring for the earth can bring people together.
During Urban Harvest: Eat Your Weeds (Pesto Making), participants discovered edible “weeds” like garlic mustard and learned how spring greens and herbs can be transformed into delicious homemade pesto while exploring simple food preservation techniques.
Our Preserved Foods Table offered a plethora of sumptuous treats for our attendees who enjoyed apple garlic relish, jam, chutney, and the irresistible salsa from last season’s harvest! Participants appreciate the value of extending the shelf life of food through preservation. We will be sending out the recipes to those who signed up!
Our Spring Garden Prep Workshop brought families together through playful garden challenges like turning soil, clearing beds, and preparing planting spaces for the season ahead. The gardens were filled with laughter, teamwork, and lots of muddy hands!
We’re so grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate sustainability, community, and the arrival of spring with us. Thank you for making this Earth Day such a meaningful and successful event!
