Hello, BCCF community! My name is Nuradin Mohamed-Nur, and I’m excited to join Black Creek Community Farm as the new Market Garden Facilitator. As someone with deep roots in the Jane & Finch area, I have witnessed firsthand the power of community and the importance of accessible food systems. My journey has been guided by a commitment to supporting local initiatives that uplift our neighborhoods and promote food justice.
In my new role, I look forward to collaborating with all of you to strengthen our community connections. I am passionate about engaging with diverse populations and fostering relationships that make a real difference.
I hold a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from York University, where I gained a solid understanding of environmental issues and community development. My background in community development, particularly through my former role at Toronto Community Housing, has equipped me with skills in organizing workshops and programs aimed at enhancing well-being and empowerment. I believe that together, we can create impactful initiatives that resonate with our community’s needs.
Beyond my professional experience, I have a few personal interests that I’m eager to bring to the farm. Whether it’s cooking new recipes, sharing comedy clips, or nurturing plants, I believe in the joy of sharing our passions. I look forward to exploring these interests with all of you and contributing to the vibrant atmosphere at BCCF.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy playing sports, attending live comedy shows, and traveling—whether within our city or around the world.
I can’t wait to meet everyone who visits the beauty that is BCCF, and I’m excited to embark on this journey together as we cultivate a thriving community rooted in sustainability and empowerment.
Let’s grow together!
