I was born in Toronto but spent my critical years raised by grandparents in Ghana. My lived experiences in both countries are where I learned to have a deep appreciation for food and its power to nourish not only our bodies but also our community. 

Growing up, my grandparents relied on the food from our front-yard garden to sustain our family, which was not always reliable. I also witness families in Ghana struggle to access food on a daily basis. This was a humbling experience that taught me the importance of making a difference for those who face food insecurity. My journey in the nutrition space, fueled by my lived experiences, motivated me to pursue a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Nutrition and Dietetics. I am in my first year of the MPH program and will be starting a 4-week placement at Black Creek Community Farm this April. 

I am excited to Intern at the farm, as it will be a great opportunity to have a fulfilling experience while also making a positive impact. I look forward to applying my knowledge in a practical setting while connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. I also hope to learn about the challenges and opportunities in addressing food insecurity in underserved communities. 

Listening to music and immersing myself in different cultures are some of my favourite hobbies to indulge in. As well as spending time with loved ones and reflecting on our life journeys are some of my cherished moments.
